The Pacific Northwest's coastal areas are varied. In Washington there are beaches next to ancient old growth forests, small towns, and state parks, as well as the cliffs that line much of the shoreline. In Oregon there are the deep offshore waters of the Pacific Ocean as well as over 200 miles of coastal rivers.
